Music

The ideal thing would be for a member of tech crew to run sound, however, I am not sure there are enough members to do that, so one or two directors may need to run sound. Mr. Harding would know more about the format (probably CD is best).

WE NEED YOUR TECH FORMS.

Please choose a piece of music that will be the transition into your piece. You may also have music that ends your piece, but it should be brief, so that the audience can hear your show end, and then transition mentally into the next piece by hearing the song chosen by the upcoming director. Any music that takes place over a set change should have movement to it - it should inspire the crew to work quickly, and it should also set the tone for your show.

Marly-
Budget-wise, we are fine with money. Please let me know what you would like to purchase and we can see if it is feasible.

Any shopping lists for props or costumes will need to be in by Friday, April 18th, so I can make purchases in time for Kingswood Day on Monday. I can probably buy things early next week, too, if I have the lists.

Marly's parents are willing to host the seniors involved with this show for a small party after strike on Sat. night. Otherwise, there will be no other school-sanctioned Cast Party. So, let Marly know if you are in for the senior gathering. I would not advertise that to the other kids; let this just be something special to reward all of your hard work.

Matty B. and Mike need to be thinking about posters and advertising. So, if anyone has any ideas, they can pass them along. Once we pick the t-shirt design, maybe that can also be used for the posters. It is also fun to put out teaser posters where you use lines from the various shows on the posters.

This blog seems to have become a ghost town lately. Today on CNN.com there was an article on how blogging can pose dangerous health risks. Maybe that's why...

Have we received a detailed calendar for tech week?

haha marly i love you too much. Music wise, if we have a CD should we give it to Rob or other tech crew members once it's all set? I feel like maybe it would be helpful to talk to whoever is in charge of the music in advance just to give the person a heads up on what needs to be done

NEED HELP! So I've been talking to my actors as well as my writers to come up with music for my play. So far I have heard Italian music but my limited music collection and ability to find it just sucks. Any suggestions? I'm thinking mafioso violinist music.

Marly that is a very good point. I need music though. I hate this Spring PLay right now. My cast doesnt't listen to me. They are always talking, and they don't know their lines. I don't want to do this crap anymore!! I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!! !!!!

It looks as if Greg will be named Stage Manager, so he will be in charge of collecting music. We can go over music choices in class today.

Evan, we can also go over some tactics of how to get your cast back. A set back on the first day of off-book is completely normal.

The most important thing for all of you is to not lose focus or motivation. If anything, your focus and motivation must increase right now.

it has become a bit more vacant...

I also need help picking some music for my show if anyone has some time to talk to me about it I'd appreciate it.

I fully support a senior party for after the show, a round of applause for Marly and her parents.

Evan, talk to somebody about whipping your cast into shape, do you maybe want someone to sit in on your next rehearsal to help out?

Evan, I will give you Marly-power.

James, you need like heavy gangsta beats (evan, dont shoot me.) PS There is a hip-hop violinist - google it. That could be good.

so does anybody have ideas for poster. I like what houston said, about using lines from the shows. However, i do not know all the lines from everyones show so if any of you have a random funny/interesting line to give me that would be great.

And i am down for the senior cast party... as long as evan comes : )

p.s. I agree with Evan. My cast is unfocused and extremely talkative. PEOPLE ARE STILL ARRIVING SO LATE! Logan suggested I should get one of those car megaphones and drive around campus at 3:15 screaming "YOU'RE LATE!" but I am broke, so. hahaha. No, but really. I think other directors need to help reinforce proper behavior.

Marly you did not answer my question/request...

James, after talking to logan and eric, we think that some old school jazz/ Sinatra would be a nice fit. It takes place in like the 50's, which is somethin to keep in mind... Maybe get the Soprano's soundtrack????

guys, just a revision of my last post. i was feeling dreamy and cerebral, so i took some acid and dropped a jazz record on the old turntable. i was thinking we should do some interpretive dancing to a jazz odyssey. jazz flute really speaks to me. right now, i have 8 hours choreographed, but i am willing to cut around a half hour.
