Friday!!!!!! April 4

Here is a new question to ponder over the weekend and through Monday.
Also, remember that 6th period had one-page vision papers due today for the monologue project.

Given your experiences on past spring plays, what elements of those experiences do you hope to bring to this year's productions and what do you hope to change or improve upon? ie--what did you like and what did you not like about the process in former years?

Feel free to comment on this as an audience member, actor, or techie. Some of you may have had no exposure to earlier Spring Plays, so you can feel free to comment on how you want it to go for you, how you want people to view your work, etc.

If any of you are struggling with getting your actors to break out of their shells, I found a great game, so you can ask me about it. Have a good weekend.

Sorry for not posting on Wednesday and answering the question. I was wacthing the phillies crush my dreams slowly. I have been trying to add a lot of interactions between the characters like hand gestures and such to try and add more feelings to the lines of the charatcers and portray wahats happening. I like thats there is more movement on the stage rather than characters just saying lines in one position.

I would like to anounce that Logan is now a member of the Techsperian Tragedy crew as Logan, the blind tech member who has cut off peoples hands and paints other crew members.

I think one thing I've always loved about the spring play is how fun and original it is. It feels fresh compared to the other two shows. I think the play needs to be taken seriously, but should not feel too serious. After working with a variety of directors in the spring play, I am trying to be like those I enjoyed working with. Those were directors with good ideas but were still open to listen to their cast members, and who were friendly. They really wanted to see me do my best on the stage. I was unimpressed with directors who already thought they knew everything and felt overbearing. I think this group of directors is a really good one though!

Having never been to a pennington play and only experiencing the Urinetown side of things, i enjoy working on the spring play because it seems to be a bit more of a collabrative effort. Much unlike the cruel and unusual punishment that Ms. Houston gives to the actors who merely suggest slight changes in her plays, the directors of the senior plays are much more welcoming and friendly. Sorry Houston.

So seeing how this year was really the first year for me to be involved in any sort of after school drama, I'm not quite sure what the past has been like. I'm hoping that my cast and I I'll be able to bring this show to life. Iwant to make sure that they are ready for the show and that it will be a fun expireence for everyone
