Cast and Crew ticket reservations can be taken starting Monday, April 14th via tickets@pennington.org. Admission will be free.
Please tell your casts and the crew (Ian tell Greg to tell them)
The rest of the school and world can make reservations starting Tuesday, April 22nd. Mike and Matty B. will get that into the announcements at the end of next week.
I highly recommend (demand) that each director run a warm up to start their rehearsal starting today. Now is also the time to have your off-stage or unlit actors practice being still and silent, or act out their motivations, if they are silent, yet still part of the scene.
Can someone give Alia this blog address? Marly? Lauren?
Enjoy the afternoon.

I have music for the curtain call that I love and think will work very well. It's my only autocratic artistic imposition on the project, so please whatever your feeling about this song..please learn to love it. I think you actually will.
Can someone get it this on a CD for the Tech Crew?
"Opposite of Hallelujah" by the Swedish musician Jens Lekman
Ms. V, I will get that peice of music for you tonight to give to the tech crew tomorrow. As for warm ups. Anyone have any ideas for small groups. I only have 5 actors, and was wondering if anyone with a little more experience had any specific games that would work better with a smaller group?
james and andrew - whatever your situation may be, whoever you want to run projections is fine with me. i just need to know someone will do it and someone else will be in my play. whoever is being in my play, PLEASE come to my rehearsal. neither of you were there today.
ok, this is IMPORTANT. houston, maybe you could repeat this in your post tomorrow? i wont be at rehearsal tomorrow, but someone please take a piece of paper (the attendance sheet) and go around and ask everyone for their t-shirt size. warn them it will be around $15-$20, and they will not get the shirt if they dont pay for it. if they dont want to pay for it, don't take their shirt size. in the past, we have gotten permission to wear them in school, so that may be an incentive. we also need the sizes of the crew and related people (teachers, etc.)
p.s. i hate writing these letters in in order to post. i keep getting them wrong.
oh, on ms vanderschaafs note, who chooses the music that plays in the house before the show and during intermission?
Sorry Marly, I didn't know you needed me there today. I will be there next time. I'm thinking we should decide the music as a group, and if that wont work, I give my musical consent to whomever feels they have the right song, as my repertoire of songs sucks.
james, if you can get the song Mrs. Vander Schaaf mentioned then we can all listen to it tomorrow and decide if it's what we want. If anyone else has anything they want to recommend they should probably bring it tomorrow so we can all listen.
Tomorrow is a full cast meeting at 3:15. I will give forms about Tech week to Houston for the directors to give out. (We will be missing at least 3 out of the 6 of you so the ones who are there need to present a united front.)
Also, use the meeting to talk about the issues you had mentioned on previous blog--focus, etc.
James--I can give you some more warm up ideas tomorrow when I get there.
Music for pre-show and intermission--please brainstorm and bring in ideas. But, Ian, as my earlier post said, I am pretty set on this music for curtain. I usually block curtain call.
yeah so did people bring in what they were supposed to?
(marly i get them wrong too)
I went to Evans rehearsal today and he said, along with Logan, that it was probably the most productive. I think what Lauren said to do was a great help. That if you just let them preform it and feel it that, then make your corrections, everyone as a whole feels better about the show. I think it helped having 3 people with different ideas there. We were able to fix basically all of the blocking and tighten it up a bit. We also added some funny parts. Although the actors were a little dead and kind of boring, the show had its moments and i think its coming together. Mrs. V is working with some of the kids and she is brilliant. In particualr to Air Canada, i felt like the kids forgot that they were suppose to be having fun with the show, it is a comedy. But at the same time they may have been intimidated by the big bad writer being there : ). They absolutely do need to be off book though because we could get alot more accomplished that way. Also, Evan and I are both typing up the notes because we noticed no one wrote them down, it might be a good idea for the rest. Night Night
big bad writer? pshhh...
i think the songs for the house should be moderately upbeat - not so mellow that people fall asleep before the show starts and not so upbeat that they cant shut up during the show. i have a few suggestions, i'm sure other people do as well.
Ms. V gets to pick the curtain call music because of all the shenanigans she had to put up with.
what shenanigans? we're the best!
but either way, she should be allowed to pick the music and i listed to the song and i like it.
Okay I will get that announcment into the aouncements
i suck at spelling
everyone needs to let me know what their actors can/can't bring in
